    Frequently asked questions

    What is TESA Softprint®

TESA Softprint® is plate mounting tapes with high quality foam backings for the highest demands in flexographic printing.

    Why choose us?

Increasing demands on print quality combined with high levels of process efficiency call for specifically tailored plate mounting tapes. Our TESA Softprint® assortment provides distinctive product lines for flexo printers to fulfill any requirement.

Historically, foam plate mounting tapes were divided into two thickness categories: 380 μm / 15 mil for label printing (narrow web) and 500 μm / 20 mil for flexible packaging printing (wide web). Nowadays, customers decide individually which category offers the most benefits for their processes.

Our TESA Softprint® assortment offers both thickness categories at an equally high level of quality in terms of print results and adhesive properties.

How to keep your Anilox Roller in health condition and maximum the long life?
    1. Keeping clean.
      • You are advised to do a cleaning after each used. Clean and wipe down each anilox roller at the end of day. It is important to clean your anilox roller as soon as possible. As without proper care, anilox cells can become plugged with dried ink, leading to insufficient ink being transferred to the substrate.
    1. Use and anilox cleaning brush.
      • Anilox cleaning brushes are specially designed for removing cell build up. The brushes contribute to a prefect finish for unclogging and maintenance operations of anilox roll. Anilox cleaning brushes are typically made of either stainless steel wires or brass wires. Stainless steel wire brush is for use on ceramic anilox roller, while brass wires brush is for use on chrome anilox roller.
    1. Occasional deep cleaning.
      • Over time a residual amount of ink or coating material is left behind in the cells and the roll is requires a deep cleaning to remove these tough deposits. A roll that has not been maintained will have the effect of being “plugged,” where the cells of the roller are blocked with the ink. Dirty anilox rolls will lead to inconsistent print quality, increased downtime and waste.
    1. Handle with care.
      • While proper cleaning of anilox rolls is essential in maintaining a quality print job, in many instances anilox rolls become damaged solely through improper handling. Ensuring anilox rolls handled properly can result in cost efficiency.
